After 20 years in the profession, Darren formed DJ Smith Group commencing in 2008 opening offices in Melbourne CBD and Clayton. Darren is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience, including working in the big 4 and medium sized firms before becoming a partner of a city based firm in 2000.
He has gained much experience and has extensive knowledge in providing business and taxation advice, superannuation planning, negotiation of sales and acquisitions of businesses and property investment. His client base covers a wide range of industry groups.
Having worked with many of his clients over more than 20 years, Darren has a keen interest in wealth creation and succession planning with many of his clients now experiencing the second generation of business owners. Being the trusted adviser to his clients and their families extends well beyond business and many clients have become good friends over the journey.
Darren is married with 2 adult children and after many summers spent on the cricket field, is now enjoying the beach life. When not working or playing golf, you can usually find Darren exploring the many wineries of the Mornington Peninsula with his wife, Joanne.
